Nawiliwili, Kauai Hawaii

January 13, 2024 - We arrived on land, Yeah!!!!! As mentioned in the previous post, our arrival in Kauai was delayed, so the tour we were supposed to be on at 8:30 AM, got moved to 2:30 PM since we didn’t dock until almost 11. We weren’t too anxious to get off the boat onto a bus to do a tour of a plantation on Kauai, so we opted to just walk 1/2 mile to a beach that we could see as we entered the port. There were many chickens and birds along the way to greet us. We waded in the water and it felt great. We did some walking along the short shoreline, and rented a chair for a few hours just to have a place to put our stuff. We weren’t completely prepared for swimming so we just enjoyed having our feet in the water —- and maybe getting our clothes a bit wet. It was beautiful and very relaxing, just what we needed. We did a little shopping at some local stores and enjoyed lunch at a small upstairs restaurant that had a view of the beach. We walked back to the ship in the afternoon and enjoyed time in the pool with the retractable roof open. A wonderfully relaxing day.
