Happy New Year!

We have been “at sea” since leaving Panama City the afternoon of December 28th. We’ve had a great time relaxing while sailing in relatively calm waters — with yesterday being a bit choppier than others. We spend the days walking, going to lectures, playing cards, swimming, reading, enjoying the entertainers and meeting some really nice people. The pool was a bit challenging yesterday as the whitecaps in the ocean were creating a real “wave pool”. There was no chance to stand in the water, as you literally had to “go with the flow”. For New Year’s Eve we had a fabulous dinner of prime rib and lobster, then Cathy went to a movie in the theater and we both went to the “Dance Party under the Stars” from 9:30 until just after midnight. It was a great night. The chef staff did an ice scuplture of 2023 that was at the back of the pool. And when the clock struck midnight they dumped the “3” into the pool and moved the “4” into place. Many of the off-duty crew came out to join in the countdown from the sun deck. We started New Years Day with an incredible brunch on the Pool deck from 10 AM - 2 PM. It was hard not to think of Mom with all the watermelon bowl sculptures and fancy food displays. Once again we are truly grateful and blessed. We wish you all health, happiness, peace and joy in 2024.
