Cherbourg, France

May 2, 2024 - After such an emotional and busy day yesterday on board we decided to skip our included tour and have a relaxing day on the boat and just roaming around Cherbourg France on our own. We are definitely winding down at the end of this voyage, so some time to relax was just what we needed. Julie and Cathy decided to go out in the afternoon and just look around the town as we heard it was so nice and the weather was really beautiful. We just walked around this small fishing village with its narrow cobblestone streets and visited the oldest church, found a needlepoint store, and of course we had to go in and bought a little something each. We then visited a few of the antique/thrift stores that were around and Julie bought a beautiful little pin that actually had Connemara stones in it. We then found a Cafe and sat outside enjoying tea and coffee before we headed back to the ship. It was just so pleasant to not have to follow a schedule and enjoy our time together.
