Sailing the China Sea

March 3-4, 2024 - For these two days we are sailed the China Sea on our way to Vietnam. Those who decided, based on the itinerary change, to leave the trip in Singapore rather than go around Africa worked with Viking on the arrangements to fly home. Those of us staying were given the excursions for the first half of our trip around Africa, and we had which we had to identify our first, second and third choices for the offered tours each day. The original plan was to allow for booking via the app, but that didn’t work - at all - but we won’t bore you with those details. So we used a paper form, which we submitted with our preferences, and the guest services team processed all the forms over the following 72 hours. There was a lot of frustration for guests and a lot of work for the crew. But all settled down in the days following. Along with all the usual walking, swimming, reading and listening to lectures, we have started playing cards (Hearts) with two other couples on sea days. Enjoying the calm seas and very different sunrises and sunsets!
