Eden, Australia - NOT

February 14, 2024 - Happy Valentine’s Day to all. We were supposed to be in Eden Australia today, enjoying a scenic tour of the sapphire coast, but we were unable to get into the harbor despite the efforts of two tugs providing assistance. There was just too much wind to allow for a safe sail in, so we had the sad announcement at 8 AM that we would be skipping Eden. Ann Marie did not handle this well, and was quite disappointed — and probably not much fun for Cathy to be around — but got over it after about 3 hours and moved on. We enjoyed a relaxing day at sea, mostly watching some movies and then had a wonderful planned dinner at Chef’s Table with Rick and Julie, who we dined with at Manfredi’s a few weeks ago, and with Diane and Steve, another couple from MN (for any Assurant co-workers from MN there are many of your fellow inhabitants on this trip). After we were seated for dinner our Maitre’d, Daryl, came over to let us he wanted us to come and meet the other McCann’s who were on the ship and were also dining at chef’s table. We had a brief conversation with Iris and John and then agreed to have dinner together in the next few weeks. After dinner there was another fabulous culinary display, this time a chocolate buffet, that was done by the executive chef and his team. After our fabulous Mexican meal at chef’s table, we opted to just take a few pieces to keep in our refrigerator for another day. We opted not to go to the Valentine’s Day show put on by all the entertainers onboard, and instead enjoyed a relaxing evening of peace and quiet.
