Christmas Day
Today we were in Cartagena, Colombia. The most beautiful City in Central America, according to our tour guide! We visited the old fortress and then had an opportunity to walk down some of the old town streets with their colorful buildings. Back at the port before returning to our ship we went through Port Oasis where there were colorful parrots, peacocks, monkeys and lots of other wildlife just walking around in this open Park. We set sail in the afternoon and ready to go through the Panama Canal tomorrow. We had a lovely Christmas dinner of turkey and the fixings, with 3 retired women who worked together for years and now travel together. After dinner there was a holiday concert with each of the entertainers doing al Christmas song. By far the best was Patricia, the assistant cruise director, who played a traditional Philippino tune on the violin. The concert ended with parody of “Twas the Night Before Christmas’ specific to our voyage and the crew. We certainly missed a McCann Family Christmas, but it was great to catch up with most via phone - despite the connection challenges.
